Crest is a recipient of a three-year grant funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The Crest project will train 44 teachers and 55 students in 11 schools along the coast of Maine.

The summer of 2006, the Crest program gave 5 students from Lubec Consolidated High School the education
in new found techology to bring back and help their community.

The three different types of technology they learned were: Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Web Design, and Ethnography.
